Blue Crab Mic Attack in full Swing!

by gramma on March 29, 2012

The 4th week of The Blue Crab Mic Attack was just as amazing and entertaining as the 3 weeks before it . This weeks open mic was hosted by the Young and virsatile Noah Feldman, who kept the talent moving and even graced us with several songs of his own.

We had several new comers this week Such as “Forest”(as in gump says he) who is a singer songwriter from the New Haven “Cafe9″ area. He brought some extreamly entertaining songs to the floor that he wrote ,making us all laugh with his nondrinking drinking song. Another New comer to the Mic Attack was Steve Patorinie who first came to the Crab last week as support for his son Rico, this week he brought his guitar and sang us some of those old 70′s covers that we thought that we had forgotten. A Set or so later Rico showed up and showed us that the Musicial nut does not fall far from the tree by playing a couple of originals that were amazing for such a young performer. The Willoughby Gap Played all bluegrassy originals and was smooth ear candy that helped to enhance the mix of music with just a hint of unique.

Repeat performers were Emiero who has been a faithful attendie since MicAttack #1. This week he brought with him his guitar playing singin friend Mark. They made beautiful music together and kicked off the Happy Birthday song to Laurie Ames the owner of the “Crab”.  Anna Lennard played for her 2nd week @ the Crab a bit of Foo Fighters and got a great big whoop out of the audiance for that . Sue Mead was in fine Voice and reduced the room to tears yet again (she does it every time) as she sang her tale of Should of’s  in her beautiful sorrowful song “You Should of Just Come Home” Look for her this weekend @ the New London Antiques Ebay Cafe on Bank St in New London. She hits the stage @ 2:00PM We also heard from Gramma’s Attic promos artists Trevor Giles who is mastering the art of ukalale playing, and The MeadowsBros who did a few “new” old folk songs and  the request that was begged for ” Monkey on the Line”. You can see these guys next week @ The Malted Barley inWesterly R.I  where they will be opening for Jonah Tolchin April 6th at 8PM.

I have said it before and I will say it again; This part of Ct is richly blessed wit talent that is would class and it seems as if the best of the best are quickly finding their way to the Blue Crab Open Mic Attack. We hope that you will bring your instrument and come show off your Gift next week and in the very near future we will be moving the evenings activities to the deck so that we can enjoy the beauty of the sky, the delish of the menu; and the Talent that Open Mic @ the Blue Crab brings to Old Boston Post Rd. Old Saybrook.

We look forward to seeing all of you there in the weeks to come.
